As Executive Director, Bill Ruppert assisted the Hort Co-op of Metro St. Louis with coreographing the June 22nd tour intended to illustrate the importance of horticultural plants and their impact on St. Louis quality of life.
On Tuesday, June 22, the Horticulture Co-op of Metro St. Louis hosted Missouri's First Lady Georganne Wheeler Nixon as they introduced select sites around St. Louis representing "The Power of Plants" and how plants can benefit communities, sustainable living, urban beauty and much more. The First Lady toured Gateway Greening's City Seeds Urban Farm, Alberici Corporation's headquarters, Urban Roots at Kiener Plaza and Citygarden, and Bowood Farms garden center.
At the Alberici stop, the First Lady presented John Alberici with the Grow Native Ambassador Award for his work in support of using native Missouri plants in landscaping.
Representatives associated with the message of each tour stop greeted the First Lady and shared information and answered questions. For a complete summary of the tour, open the PDF attachment below.
