Nursery Day at the Missouri Botanical Garden/Kemper Center for Home Horticulture.
Plan to attend the 15th annual Nursery Day, a Gateway region landscape green industry tradition presented by the staff of Missouri Botanical Garden/Kemper Center for Home Horticulture and Plants of Merit with volunteer host assistance from St. Louis Master Gardeners and sponsor support from the Landscape and Nursery Association of Greater St. Louis. This FREE admission event is open to all professional members of the landscape green industry.
The featured theme of this year's Nursery Day educational event will be sustainability in the landscape initiatives that provide opportunities for the green industry professional. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Ann Marie VanDerZanden of Iowa State University Department of Horticulture, Ames, IA, presenting Designing Sustainable Landscapes.
8:30 am: Registration & Refreshments - MBG Ridgway Center/Shoenberg Auditorium
9:00 am: Program: Designing Sustainable Landscapes by featured presenter: Dr. Ann Marie VanDerZanden - Ridgeway Center Shoenberg Auditorium
10:00 am: MBG Programs UPDATE, Dr. Steve Cline, Manager, Kemper Center for Home Gardening - Ridgway Center Shoenberg Auditorium
10:30 am: Presentation: Plants of Merit 2011, Chris Nejelski, Coordinator, Plants of Merit - Ridgway Center Shoenberg Auditorium
12:00 noon: Lunch - Kemper Center/Cohen Amphitheater
Immediately Following Lunch: LNAGSL BUSINESS MEETING - Cohen Amphitheater Grounds
1:00 pm: Garden Self-guided Tours
Who should attend?: ALL landscape green industry professionals interested in ornamental landscape plants including retail garden center managers and staff, landscape and land care professionals, professional gardeners, landscape managers, horticulture consultants, horticulture educators, garden writers, wholesale nursery and greenhouse growers, and horticultural sales/marketing reps.
